Finishing Up !

Approaching the finish line for the 2ndquarter...this Friday, the 15th is the day!

Our class jumped right back into being creative, thinking, sharing learners. We changed our usual routine,  included more "brain breaks" and charged ahead!  Our class is a wonderful example of helping each other, teaching together, and celebrating success for each other.

FOCUS SKILLS:
Reading- compare and contrast, helping verbs, expository text; AR goals should be finished by Friday the 15th (25 points and a test average of 85% or higher)  !

Math- continuing multiplication and division strategies ; practicing multiplication and division facts at home every day:)))))

Social Studies- landmarks and memorials in the USA

Science- properties and states of matter; changes in states of matter

Monday, January 18th, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day...no school for students.

Wondering
When the students share they love to tell about all the things they are accomplishing and experiencing- trips on the weekends, in their sports, during family outings , etc.  They tell a wealth of information about different states, movies, books, learning to cook, build, repair, things they have questions about. they're sharing leads to questioning, which leads to finding more answers, which leads to more questioning.  It is a wonderful blessing to see them all engage, question, and want to know "why".   We are learning academically and we are learning to wonder !  Wondering is a doorway to creativity, inventions, and more wondering :)  Keep up those opportunities to stretch thinking and engage the entire brain; the possibilities are endless!
