Pre-K celebrated Literacy Week! And on Wednesday, January 28th at 9 A.M. we participated in the simultaneous read across the state. Mr. Cady, our Principal surprised our Pre-K students! He was very animated as he read aloud: Time To Rest, by Denise Fleming. A lovely, entertaining story about Bear and her animals friends getting ready for Winter! Mr. Turbeville, a Rotary member, came in at 1:30 for the P.M. class. The students enjoyed the story and were so happy to take home their own book: TIME TO REST, purchased by the Rotary Club for the VPK children in our area! This coming week, we shall continue reading aloud and enjoying each student's "favorite book", which they brought to share with their classmates. As we do so, we continue to review the following: Author, Illustrator, main character(s), Fiction/Non-fiction. PRE-K SIMPLY LOVES TO READ!!

time to sleep okay opening page 3 so it's a bear time to sleep here we go what I'm going to do is I'm going to read it to you so listen with your ears and then when I'm done reading it and I'm going to show you the picture okay try and get a picture in your mind here we go she sniffed twice I smell winter in the air it is time to crawl into my cave and sleep but first I must tell the bear so now you're ready what is here bears and look at Thursday the snail so now that you're what's going to be snail slowly slithering up one leaf winter is in the air it's time to seal your chill and sleep stamp now we turn the page yo there is no now it's close up looking at the snail in the Bears just going next to so now let's see what is this page nail stop slithering you are right there since nail it is time to sleep but first I must tell skunk okay now the snail is going to go tell somebody to see the bear tells the snail and now the snare to the salesman okay now where is the skunk now let's see here we go the skunk was busy digging grubs has worms so the snail see there's the snail look at fight there so the snail the snails move really slow so now the snail look a little the snail is trying to dig in the ground and find some worms so the sales just going to interrupt the skunk so that's listen to what the snail says winter is on his way snailed it is time for you to curl up and sleep see what they say about that let's see what this is skunk leaves on the trees where yellow and red you right I will sleep but first I must tell turtle look at the skunk the skunk looks up Windows coming his head is up does the skunk says thank you stay over this wall I've ever get busy but I better go tell somebody first so is running off Define Turtle so let's hear what the skunk says now turtle turtle Christ I have news winter is on its way look at there's a turtle he's watching the other come over here isn't this fun I love this and you're being so good look at how you're sitting with your that's going to help you cuz when you get time like I showed you was Sarah graduate from Elmont High School okay Turtle blink winter just winter that's gone it is time for you to dig down deep and sweep the days have been growing shorter water turtle it is asleep but first I must tell woodchuck keep telling all their neighbors so he says all right Turtle time winners coming so let's see the turtle I've got to find the hill where the woodchuck lives so where is real here's the turtle they don't move very fast but he looks like he's he wants to get up that hill why would chuck so that's cute what turtle is say fertile charged up with what truck call Turtle it's time for you to grow. Okay Eternal Sonata let's see what it says my skin is so tight I cannot eat another bite I am ready to sleep I'm full I'm eating so much I'm ready to sweep but first I must tell ladybug what are is woodchuck looking looking looking there it is right there where is ladybug ladybug OK Google now hold your hands perfect what is ladybug was perched in the maple tree ladybug the woodchuck winter is on its way ladybug is time for you to slip under a dog sleep but first I must tell oh look at theirs ladybug fly I'm so glad that you send that everybody here with Hannah she already let's find out what the story is going to take a stand here we go there's the bear explain over the channel the bear I wonder what's going to happen okay get ready there's the answer answer how are you there was softly snoring in her cave very pretty lady bug wake up wake up bear Grumble and roll over the sky is full of geese honking the bike ride ladybug winter is on its way ladybug Kelly bear something does the geese are flying bear opened one eye then she open the other eye what go there it's time to call in your team and sleeps a ladybug ladybug I am in my case I was asleep so sorry so there's the bear ladybug already know is that good funny when you read a story that's what you should try and do it if you read the pain on the next okay let's go to the next one. Bear roll over and close their eyes ladybug slipped under the log nearby so now the bear was asleep and ladybug ghost okay I better call him and go to sleep I didn't even need to tell bear that's why I apologize where's the mirror ladybug ladybug and this is a long and she's going to call now you know I got to show this last page with you it's really stressful because now I'm just last what do you see in the air everybody talks everybody else the snow is coming and this is why you hear I got to be real quiet snow's coming down but there's voices and here's what the voices say good night bug sun bear Ted ladybug woodchuck turtle see you in the spring what is that a good book that's why it's so important to read when you're young the next right
