Focus for this week will include:
ELA/Reading: Author’s purpose, ask and answer questions while reading, realistic fiction, subjects in sentences.
Vocab and comprehension test will be on Wedesday. STUDY those vocab words on spelling sheet =)
Cold read test is Thursday.
Spelling test and Grammar test are on Friday.
Math: Chapter 2- How can I use what I know about equal groups to help multiply numbers?
Science: What features do we use to classify animals?
Social Studies: Studies Weekly Week 3. We will work through the newspaper throughout the week and have an open "newspaper" test on Friday.
Reminders:
AR point and averages are entered in as a grade weekly. Each student should earn at least 3 points a week and keep their test average at 85% or higher. By the end of this week (8/20), students should have 6 A.R. points. Please make sure students are reading each night.
Study Island- Each week students will be assigned 3 study island assignments. They'll have center time, tech lab time, and free time in the class throughout the week to complete these.
Study Island is NOT to be done at home, please.
On Friday, we will take their best grade on the assignments and put it in the gradebook. This week their Study Island lessons are: "Adding and Subtracting Whole Numbers, Behavior Responses, and Context Clues"

Aug 29 and 31st: FAST testing. Please have child at school on these days please.
August 31st: Early Release 12:45pm pickup - $2 to wear jeans and hat. Must wear Belmont house polo or regular uniform top.

Sept 2: Odanost day. All students may wear BLUE head to toe to celebrate Odanost being champs last year.
