ATTENDANCE POLICY 2024-2025  (Rev 8/19/24) 

(In Accordance with the Belmont Academy Charter School Student Progression Plan) 

For grades VPK-5:  Ten (10) Excused Absences for the Year allowed by parent note Five (5) Excused Tardies and/or Early Dismissals for the Year by parent note 

For grades 6-8:  Three (3)  Excused  Absences  per grading period  by  parent note (See dates below).  Three (3)  Excused Tardies and/or Early Dismissals per grading period by parent note 

For grades 9-12:  Three (3) Excused Absences and/or tardies per class period, per grading period by parent note

All other absences beyond this without a doctor's note will be unexcused. (Failure to bring a note within two (2) days (K-12) shall result in an automatic unexcused absence.  

Early Dismissal is defined as leaving anytime after school has started.

A Tardy is defined as arriving anytime after school has started: 7:45 AM for elementary (grades VPK-6) and 8:00 AM for secondary (grades 7-12). 

IMPORTANT NOTICE: A student that accrues ten (10) or more unexcused absences within a semester, or fifteen (15) or more unexcused late arrivals, early dismissals or a combination thereof within a semester shall lose any re-enrollment preferences with Belmont Academy and be placed back into the lottery for the following school year and will be reported to the Columbia County School District and law enforcement. Effective January 10, 2025
