Earth/Space Science (Period 4)
Course Description
Earth/Space Science is a full year course focusing on topics in geology, meteorology, and astronomy. Students will be expected to show mastery of the state standards aligned with this course and will be participating in activities using the following instructional practices:
- Wide reading from complex text that varies in length
- Engaging in argument using textual and laboratory evidence (claims and evidence)
- Research in related topics
- Hands-on laboratory activities
- Using mathematics and computational thinking to analyze and interpret data
- Planning and carrying out investigations
- Developing and using models
