Week of October 11th

NEXT WEEK (October 18-22) IS FALL BREAK! YEEEE HAWW!

Report cards will be sent home this week. Please review, sign and return.

Awards Day for 3rd grade will be October 15th at 9am in the cafeteria and online on the Belmont Facebook page.

UPDATE ON HOMEWORK:

Heading into the 2nd nine weeks, homework will look a bit differently. As normal, math homework will be sent home daily and due the next day. We will also now begin sending home practice cold reads on Monday. Students will have Monday-Thursday to complete the cold read and turn it in Friday for a homework grade. The cold read must include UNWRAP. UNWRAP (Underline the title, Number the paragraphs, walk through the questions, read the story, answer the questions, and prove your answers). Cold reads will not be graded if this strategy isn't done. I encourage parents to help their child if it's needed. These practice cold reads are being sent home to strengthen their comprehension skills in order to do their best on cold read tests as well as FSA. If you have any questions, please let me know.
