Career Highlights:

Mrs. Ledford taught in Orlando, FL for over 15 years. After spending 8 years teaching 4th and 5th grade, she taught middle school science prior to moving to high school. For four years, Mrs. Ledford taught high school Biology and AP Biology. In addition to classroom teaching, Mrs. Ledford has been in instructional coach for middle and high school teachers and taught Alternative Certification Courses for Orange County Public Schools. Most recently, Mrs. Ledford is proud of successes with students in Science Fair (had a student compete at the INTEL International Science Fair in 2018) and Science Olympiad (led student teams to 1st place regional wins and high success at the state competition). Currently, Mrs. Ledford is also the State Director of Florida Science Olympiad and hopes to work toward growing this program for students at Belmont Academy and across the state.


Mrs. Ledford loves teaching because she is a life-long learner. In addition to keeping up-to-date with current science happenings, she loves to spend summers or available time working with professionals in laboratory settings or in the field. Mrs. Ledford lives with her wonderful husband and they share a love of animals and local,state, and national parks.
