Career Credentials:
Since 2008 Mr. Selva has been a basketball coach in multiple levels. From 2008-2012 and again from 2013-2015 he was an assistant coach at Santa Fe College. From 2012-2013 he was paraprofessional at Westwood Middle School in Gainesville, FL. During that time Mr. Selva was also the JV basketball Head Coach for Cornerstone Academy. Most recently, he was an assistant coach at Columbia High School during the 2015-2016 school year. While coaching, he was constantly involved in his players scholastic achievement, being a part of tutoring sessions and getting parental feedback on his players academics.
Mr. Selva is a Miami native born in Mexico with Nicaraguan background. He graduated with his bachelor's degree from the University of Florida. While there, he pursued his passion for history and took many various history classes. He loves all sports, whether it be participating or watching. Along with teaching at Belmont Mr. Selva also works as a basketball coach at Saint Francis Catholic Academy in Gainesville, FL and is always looking forward to watching his students and players grow as they prepare for what life has in store for them.
